114/366 (2012): 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner

This engineering masterpiece was/is not ideal for the serious shopper because there's not much truck space. The roof retracts into the trunk turning it into a convertible. It was the first ever hardtop convertible and had a base price of $2,942 in 1957.

  1. $2942 would be a bargain today. Try to buy one in todays market for ten times that.

  3. And that ($29,420) would be cheap. I found a similar one for sale with a asking price of $45,000.
