274/366 (2012): One Hot Cow

If Catherine O'Leary could time travel 141 years and 785 miles would she be amazed or offended to see this cow standing just outside Old West/New West on the campus of Chapel Hill?

273/266 (2012): Rameses As A Cow? No, It's Ramooses

Ramooses and 14 of his buddies are roaming the campus of Chapel Hill. They are part of a larger CowParade installment in the Triangle area.

272/366 (2012): Post-It Note Prank (Now In Progress)

I happened upon these young men putting post-it notes on a birthday girl's car in a high school parking lot. They let me take their picture. Do you think she felt loved and celebrated or annoyed about removing a thousand+ post-it notes from her once maroon car?

271/366 (2012): Eye Candy

The sight of these Montana acrylic paint markers
makes me want to stop what I'm doing and play.

268/366 (2012): The 3:15 PM Circle of Light (More From The O Series)

At 3:15 pm this circle of light appears on my wall. The wall is not close to any windows but the reflection is bouncing from somewhere. I'm open to the light. I am paying attention!

My daughter (special guest photographer) took this photo of me at Atlantic Beach early one morning this summer with my iPhone.

266/366 (2012): Concert T-Shirts

I'm a sucker for concert T-Shirts. My rule is I'll buy a shirt if I liked the show. All eight of these T-Shirts are from amazing shows that I had the good fortune to attend.

The snowman playing the guitar is from Warren Haynes Christmas Jam 2010.

The one below the Christmas Jam says 'Bullet' on the front and 'Target' on the back. It's from Citizen Cope's song 'Bullet and A Target'. The lyric is "what you've done here is put yourself between a bullet and a target". Get it?

The one next to the Christmas Jam is autographed by John Hiatt and The Combo and is my favorite.

264/366 (2012): She Puts The 'Cool' In Coolidge

Last week, I took Mixed Media Pet Portraits with Caroline Coolidge Brown. I can't remember when I've had more fun. Maybe it's the total freedom I have in Caroline's classes to do whatever I want on/to a canvas, no worries. Possibly it could be the air, so thick with baking doughnuts, I experience a calorie-free sugar high each time. Maybe it's the combination of both. Who knows? All I know is that when I'm there my burdens are lifted. And that is cOOl.

262/366 (2012): Journal Play (Please Inspire Me)

This is today's page from one of my visual journals. Since I've not picked up a pen in months, I put my pens where my mouth is, wordplay for sure, but one that hopefully inspires me to write. PLEASE!

they showed up to the party a little bit early.

248/366 (2012): The (Empty) Case For Barbie

This was my sister's Barbie case and she handed it down to me when I was a little girl.  It's empty now, but it used to be crammed with dolls, clothes and accessories. Oh, how I loved playing with these perfect pieces of plastic. Where did they all go?

247/366 (2012): No Name Jeans

This Assignment = Lasting Lessons + Art For My Laundry Room

I created this poster for Drawing 101 almost 30 years ago. The assignment was to pick a brand name product and make a poster featuring the product. We were not allowed to use any words in the poster art, however, one or two individual letters were OK (see my "W." & "L." in the drawing). The purpose of the assignment, of course, was to suggest to the viewer, a brand without saying a word.

No Name Jeans?
Is this enough information to suggest a specific brand?

One or two individual letters were allowed,
as long as they didn't spell a brand name word.
