Last night, my shoes were a runner-up for the women's sneaker award at the 2012 My Hero Gala. Although they didn't win first place, they were a big hit with the Bobcats. A few players even tried for some free throws. Too bad not a single one made it in the basket. I hope the season turns out better than this.

Watch Beth Lavinder, she's amazing with the hula hoop. She hooped it up Wednesday at the James McMurtry show. Very nice, thanks for the inspiration, Beth.

Bonnie Raitt does an amazing cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Allen Shamblin and Mike Reid. At almost 63, she still rocks the house and dishes up some sweet blues on her slide guitar. Go Bonnie!

live at Crossnore Weavers and Gallery (a working museum) in Crossnore, North
Carolina. All of these wonderful and arty spool ladies were lovingly
created by nine-year-old Emma Banner.
